Now if you want to print out today’s jigsaw puzzle and cut out all the pieces, that’s up to you.
What I’m talking about is wood type that was used to print large letters and types of illustrations.
They used wood instead of metal because with large letters metal type would develop uneven surfaces and even crack as it cooled.
Metal was fine for smaller letters as it didn’t show the defects as much.
Wood was also lighter and cheaper to produce, especially after they figured out how to mass produce them.
Anyway, they are the subject for today’s jigsaw puzzle.
