We just missed the anniversary of the opening of the Eiffel Tower last week, and I had a picture picked out for our daily jigsaw puzzle, but I forgot to use it.
Years ago I went to France, but didn’t make it to Paris where I had hoped to go up in the Eiffel Tower, among other places.
I had to settle for Cannes and a side trip to Nice. Paris was about 600 miles from where I was, and I didn’t have time for an overnight trip.
A few years later, my youngest daughter went there in a school program and was able to go up the tower. She said it was an amazing experience.
Cannes was packed as we pulled into port during the middle of the Cannes Film Festival, thus the need to go to Nice and get away from the crowds.
Nice is a nice place to visit, if you’ll pardon the pun.
