I’ve visited temples in both Japan and China, and while I never saw one even close to the one in today’s jigsaw puzzle, I think they contributed to my decision to pick this picture of a fantasy temple. As temples go, this one is huge! The lake and mountains are nice touches. Enjoy and please […]
Monday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle How about a nice visit to a Japanese temple and the gardens around it? Today’s jigsaw puzzle is a look back to my years stationed in Japan and all the times I got to play tourist while there. Enjoy!
I make no secret that I enjoyed living in Japan. I’d like to go back for a visit some day. Meanwhile, there’s quite a bit of beautiful art about the country, and the image of a young lady in a kimono with a temple in the background in today’s jigsaw puzzle is pretty good. Enjoy!
I thought you might like this nice painting of a Torii gate. I’d kind of liked to have a print of this on my wall! It reminds me of some of the Torii I saw while in Japan. Enjoy!
The rural Japanese Village in today’s jigsaw puzzle is a lot different than their big cities. I was lucky enough to visit one with a friend a few months after I got to Japan about thirty-five years ago. It was very interesting and had a slower pace than Tokyo. Enjoy today’s puzzle!
When I lived in Japan I was lucky enough to travel around and see many of their beautiful temples. Today we take a look at a Zen Buddhist Temple in Kyoto, Japan, called Kinkaku-Ji. It’s also known as the Temple of the Golden Pavilion. The official name is Rokuon-ji meaning Deer Garden Temple. It is […]
The couple in today’s jigsaw puzzle looks a bit like Anime characters, but still somewhat different. More artistic, I think. For some reason, they remind me of Japan or maybe China, but I can’t quite put my finger on the reason why… Of course, I’m just kidding. I just wanted to use this picture because […]
Today’s jigsaw puzzle features a house behind a curved foot bridge. I’m guessing they may not let cars in there, which means you have to carry your groceries from wherever you parked. The bridge sort of reminded me of some of the ones I saw in parts of Japan. Enjoy!
It’s time to head across the ocean for a bit of Japanese art for today’s jigsaw puzzle. I’m a big fan, having been stationed there for ten years and traveling throughout the area. Of course, some of my favorite things are the food and the culture. I have to admit, they have some amazing artists […]
My wife bought us some ceramic bowls to eat our Japanese noodles from when we lived in Japan. She got the really good quality ones and was very proud of them. We still have them, of course, and I look forward to having Yakasoba at least once a month. When I saw the bowls in […]
I’ve been looking for days for a public domain picture of the Olympics to use for a jigsaw puzzle as it would be difficult for me to go to Japan and get into the Olympics to take my own photograph. I finally settled on this one which embodies multiple events. Enjoy!
The desserts in today’s jigsaw puzzle look nice, but don’t eat them! It isn’t that they aren’t good for you, it’s that they aren’t real. They are ‘samples’ or display models. They have amazing looking models of food outside many Japanese restaurants in Japan, so you can see exactly what you are going to get […]
Japan is a beautiful country. I picked the picture out of my collection for today’s jigsaw puzzle. It features a traditional Japanese style footbridge and a bit of a park area with what I think is a museum in the background. I think I’ve actually been to this location, but as I traveled to a […]
Welcome to August! It’s time for a brand new month of Jigsaw Puzzles! Yay! Since I’m stuck at home I figured it was time for a nice snack. I had these back in Japan and they were mostly good except for the ones with a bean paste center. Yuk! Seriously, the ones with a sweet […]
This stained glass window is in Japan. I can tell by the sign at the end of the hallway. It has both Japanese Kanji and English words on it. It’s also pointing at the JR Tower Hotel in Tokyo. Some of the Kanji in the reflection mean “train station.” I remember that from my time […]
I wanted something peaceful and calming for a jigsaw puzzle today after a tough week. One of the most peaceful places I’ve been is a Japanese Garden in Japan. I hope you like it!
The temple in today’s jigsaw puzzle is called Ginkakuji or the Silver Pavilion and is located in Kyoto, Japan. Check out the write up in the link to learn more. One minor thing – for some reason the green in the picture turned out to be more green than I thought, and I couldn’t tone […]
Japan has a lot of shrines. I know, because I visited a lot of them while I was there. The Shimogamo Shrine is one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan and has been designated as a World Heritage Site. I was very impressed not only with the whole complex, but with the way the […]
Oh I, I love the nightlife I got to boogie On the disco ’round, oh yea Oh, I love the night life I got to boogie on the disco ’round, oh yea I don’t see a disco in this night time scene from somewhere in Japan but hey, I wanted to do a jigsaw puzzle […]
I visited quite a few shrines when I lived in Japan. They were always peaceful places and I found them comforting. Sometimes you need something to remove the stress. I’ve been told my jigsaw puzzles do this very well. I hope you agree. Enjoy!
