I have a nice still life jigsaw puzzle for you today. It’s fruit on top of what is called a “footed bowl” or sometimes a “pedestal bowl.”
Not too surprisingly, it is sometimes called a “tazza,” which originated in Italy, or a “compote,” which is derived from the old French word “composte,” meaning “mixture.”
No matter what you call it, the fruit looks delicious!
