Years ago, mothers would have portraits of their daughters made wearing nice dresses. They used to be paintings, and later, photographs.
These they would display proudly so friends would see how beautiful their daughters were, in hopes they would send a suitor their way.
The lovely young ladies in today’s jigsaw puzzle were photographed in just such a fashion.
I think it’s time these kinds of portraits made a comeback.
