I wanted to include a picture of a place I had visited in today’s daily jigsaw puzzle, and it turns out I visited Meiji Temple in the Shibuya district of Tokyo, Japan years ago.
I wasn’t even looking for places in Japan. I just searched for famous places and it was in the list. I probably still have some pictures of my visit somewhere.
It’s a huge and beautiful place, sitting on almost 180 acres of land. It’s over a hundred years old, although much of the original buildings were destroyed in World War two.
They were rebuilt back in 1958.
Every January, they have the year’s first shrine visit and upwards of three million people visit it during the first three days of the year. Certain events during the year can draw a million people in a single day.
OK, you can look up more information if you are interested.
Enjoy!
