The city of Lviv in Ukraine is also known as the Lion City and in fact, the name Lviv means “Lion” in Ukrainian.
As you can see in the picture in today’s jigsaw puzzle, it is a beautiful old-world city, and is the site of many firsts for the country.
The first Ukrainian book was printed there, the first railroad tracks were built there and the world’s first kerosene lamp was lit there, among other things.
Sadly, after being mostly untouched by the war in Ukraine, recently attacks started on the city.
I had actually picked out the picture weeks ago before the attacks, but hadn’t used it until now.
