Today’s daily jigsaw puzzle features a group of ladies taking food items to market somewhere upriver, and using boats to do it.
These boats are hand-paddled, and don’t have motors on board.
I saw some of these boats pulled up along side a pier a few decades back, when I was on vacation overseas. I bought what I thought was a watermelon, but when I got back to my hotel room and cut it open, it was anything but!
The taste wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t what I expected.
Most of it went into the trash.
I’m sure I paid the tourist price for it, but still, it was an interesting experience.
