“There was a slight rain earlier this evening in the village. The clouds had since broken and the full moon came out, but it was hard to see anything.
Walking home from the pub, I heard a wolf howl. A slight shiver from the sound made me pull my coat a bit tighter as if to convince me it was simply the chill in the air.
I was being careful and tried to remember where the missing cobblestone was lest I accidentally stepped in the hole, hidden by the puddles and shadows.
I knew it was only a short walk, but it seemed to take longer than I remembered.
To my left a house abruptly went dark as they blew out the candles and turned down the oil lamp at their porch.
A bit further, and the wolf howled again, closer than before. Ahead and to the right was another pub, so I ducked inside, and felt relief wash over me as the door softly shut behind me.
I knew I’d have to wait there until dawn before it was safe for me to go home.
After all, I didn’t think my wife would want me to be eaten by that wolf,” Bob said as he finished trying out the excuse he was going to give to his wife as to why he was so late getting home.
Yup, Bob’s probably going to be grounded again.
Enjoy today’s jigsaw puzzle, and watch out for wolves under a rainy full moon!
