Today’s jigsaw puzzle is the Great Wall of China, which I’ve never seen, even though I’ve been to China about six times.
On none of my visits did I get close enough to make even a side trip.
I can’t complain as I’ve been fortunate enough to see what I have, as well as the other countries I’ve been to.
I did visit “Splendid China” three times, which is a massive, culturally immersive theme park in Shenzhen, China. It’s divided into two main sections:
The Splendid China Miniature Park, which has over 80 meticulously detailed replicas of their most iconic landmarks, such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.
The other section is the “China Folk Culture Village, which has over 20 life-sized ethnic villages highlighting the customs, habits, and arts of each of China’s 56 officially recognized ethnic groups.
They have huge live-action performances starting in the mid-afternoon, and by night, the park transitions to fantastic night light shows and other events.
I will say it’s so big you can’t see it all in one day. Heck, even three visits isn’t enough time to see everything in the park.
OK, it’s time for me to stop rambling and get to today’s jigsaw puzzle.
