I’ve been fascinated by the monasteries at Meteora since I saw my first picture of the place.
The monastery pictured is actually just one of six remaining monasteries built on top of the pillars of rock in the Meteora Valley. There were originally twenty four of them.
Interestingly enough, there is evidence of this area being inhabited continuously for over fifty thousand years, going all the way back to the Neanderthals.

Today’s jigsaw puzzle is of the Monastery of the Holy Trinity. The Great Meteoron Monastery is the largest one and the one you usually see in the photographs, which is why I chose a lesser-well known one.
