OK, today’s jigsaw puzzle is half off, in honor of Black Friday.
For those outside the United States, Black Friday is the day after our holiday of Thanksgiving.
It is called ‘Black Friday’ because it is the day that retailers go from being in the red (or not profitable) to being in the black (profitable.)
For us who live here, it also describes what the sky looks like when we go out to go shopping, usually because it is the middle of the night.
One year I got up at three AM to go stand out in the cold for several hours just to save fifty bucks on a new computer. Yes, it sure was black out.
No moon, and the stupid street lights were out in the parking lot that night.
