I had a friend in Japan that lived out on the economy (instead of on the base) and his house was a nice little walk up a hillside, much like the ones in today’s jigsaw puzzle.
He would have to park his car near the bottom, then walk up.
Grocery shopping at Thanksgiving was a bit of a challenge for him, what with having to lug a big turkey uphill like that and all.
