Bulgaria is a country in south-eastern Europe. The Bulgarian language is our next translation flag, and I learned some interesting things about the country. To be honest, I had heard of Bulgaria before, but knew very little about it, including where it was. The photograph in today’s jigsaw puzzle is of a village located in […]
It’s back to our jigsaw puzzles based on the translation flags at the top of the page again, and today’s jigsaw puzzle is based on the Dutch language. Now, when I hear of Dutch, I think of three things: 1. Both people paying for their own food (OK, I’m cheap.) 2. Windmills 3. Wooden shoes, […]
(I’m taking a break from the translation jigsaw puzzles for the weekend.) It got very, very hot today, 100 degrees! It felt like I was on a tropical island beach somewhere. At least I found a bit of shade in this tree. Now, if I can only find a coconut somewhere…
I visited Greece when I was in the Navy. I ate at a nice, small Greek pub, much like the one in today’s jigsaw puzzle. They call it a pub because they serve alcoholic drinks, I guess, but they also serve some fantastic food. There are hundreds of these small pubs around, and the people […]
Russian is the language flag of the day. I watched an old cowboy movie this weekend because I was bored. Then I remembered this photograph of a Russian cowboy, and picked it for today’s jigsaw puzzle. Russia is the largest country on earth, and covers nine time zones.
Today’s language is Arabic. I find the written script to be unique and don’t think I could ever learn it, much less write it. Still, it is a rich and ancient language. I spent quite a bit of time in the Persian Gulf, visiting some of the countries there. I went to Saudi Arabia a […]
I lived in Japan for ten years. Actually I was stationed in Japan for ten years, but spent a good part of that “haze gray and under way,” which is the Navy way of saying I was gone to sea a lot. Anyway, the next flag is for the Japanese language. I learned some Japanese […]
Monday’s Free Daily Jigsaw Puzzle We are up to Spanish for our flags (which translate the page into different languages, for those of you who are new here.) I visited Spain years ago. Many of the buildings were white, like in today’s jigsaw puzzles. I walked down a street much like this one, where I […]
I’m taking a break from the translation puzzles, and while searching for something unique to use, ran across this old photo of an orchard in winter. Lots of trees! Bingo! It’s a little on the tough side, but I think you will enjoy Sunday’s jigsaw puzzle.
Corsica is a French region, or territorial collectivity. Of course, they speak French there. Napoléon Bonaparte was born in Corsica, and it has been inhabited for thousands of years. Yes, France, or rather French, is the language of the translation flag above for today.
Friday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle Since the next flag is Germany, I wanted something nice and different. I’ve never been to Germany, but I’ve worked with and known people from there. These three cute blond German girls looked like they would make a nice jigsaw puzzle, especially since they are all dressed alike.
The next flag on our parade is from Portugal. Today’s jigsaw puzzle is of Porto City, the second largest city in Portugal, and dates back to the 4th century. It features a rich culture, with lots of places to visit.
Tuesday’s Jigsaw Puzzle The third translation flag at the top of the page is Korean. I visited Korea a few times when I was in the Navy. The people there are generally very friendly, and there is a lot to see there as well. The picture in today’s jigsaw puzzle is of the War Memorial […]
Monday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle The country for Monday’s jigsaw puzzle is Toblino Castle in Italy. It has an interesting history involving murder and romance. (Yeah, I know. My puzzles are to die for, right?) Ahem. Anyway, this puzzle is in my International series because of the translation flags at the top of the page. If […]
Since a lot of folks checked out the translation flags at the top of the page yesterday, I decided to spend a few days doing jigsaw puzzles of scenes from other countries. Of course, Bob had to give me some trouble over it. I picked out a nice photograph of our first foreign themed puzzle, […]
(Note about the little flags at the top of the page – They don’t represent the countries where my visitors come from, they represent languages. Click on a flag to see the web page translated into that language. I have visitors from over 60 countries visit and play the puzzles. If you know anyone from […]
OK, no fancy writeup about today’s jigsaw puzzle. It’s just two horses, mother and child, running together. Enjoy!
OK, this one is a bit of a surprise jigsaw puzzle, but only in that you don’t get a preview. It’s a sunflower. I liked it because it’s a tad bit different from the other ones I’ve done. Since I’ve done several other sunflowers this year, I made it a surprise puzzle. OK, now I’m […]
I like trains. Don’t get me wrong, but this train… That face! It was just looking at me. The eyes seemed to follow me wherever I went. It’s the face of a nightmare! Yeah, as a kid I didn’t like cartoon like faces on things that shouldn’t have a face. I got over it, but […]
Lions don’t make good pets, although I have a cat that sometimes thinks he is a lion. Don’t worry, his meow is worse than his bite. Still, the lion has many friends in the jungle, until he gets hungry, that is. Meow.
