There is an old joke about the Irish giving the Scottish the bagpipes, and the Scots haven’t gotten the joke yet. There is another one about the reason you always see bagpipe players walking. They are trying to get away from the noise. I actually like the sound of bagpipes. If they are properly played, […]
I got outside for a little while today, and went for a walk down near a small river. Except for the heat, the bugs and the humidity, it was pretty nice. I find small waterfalls to be relaxing. Of course, one of the main reasons I do jigsaw puzzles is I find them relaxing, too.
I’m not much of a mechanic. The expert on all things mechanical in my family is my brother. I’m more of an electronics / computers type of guy. I did rebuild the engine of my car once. It actually worked afterwards. Not well, but it ran. That was the first, last and only time I […]
This lady is going crazy over our jigsaw puzzles! I wish! Actually I think she is just upset the merry go round she is on isn’t going anywhere, and judging by the dark circles under her eyes, she hasn’t had much sleep lately either. Either way she can be a bit of a challenge.
Well, Sunday got stormy and the temperature dropped. It was still in the high 70’s, but compared to what it has been, it felt down right chilly. It was a good day for tomato soup, especially with the tomatoes coming from our own garden. Speaking of gardens, I heard something that kind of irritated me. […]
From Wikipedia: Jade is is an ornamental stone. The term jade is applied to two different metamorphic rocks that are made up of different silicate minerals. We collected a lot of jade while living overseas. We have several jade Buddhas, as well as other things including rings, a jade dragon and a jade elephant with […]
Happy Saturday! For today’s daily jigsaw puzzle, I found a bright red freight train. I’m not sure what it is hauling, but I’m sure it has some assembly required, batteries not included.
Gwen challenged me to do something… different, for today’s jigsaw puzzle. Is a watercolor (I think it’s watercolor) painting of a happy dog driving a car different enough? Perhaps another day I can do a cat flying an airplane.
Is soap on a rope still around? I guess it’s better to use that to take a bath with than a monkey on a rope. OK, I’m tired. Got to throw another candle on the cake, and hope the fire department doesn’t crash the party like they did last year. I really shouldn’t spend so […]
A housing development like the one in today’s jigsaw puzzle could be called a “complex.” It sure looks complex to me. Wouldn’t you get confused as to which one was yours? What about those neighbors that complain all the time about the noise? Do I have to shut down my Metallica just because of them? […]
Usually in a hard jigsaw puzzle all the pieces have the same shape. Today’s jigsaw puzzle is a little hard because of all the green cabbage. It’s not impossible, just difficult. Just be sure to get the jigsaw puzzle done before the cabbage wilts.
Bird Seed – Monday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle (Sorry this is late. I stupidly scheduled it to publish on Tuesday instead of Monday.) It never seems to matter how much bird seed I plant, I never grow any birds. Worse, I think the birds that are already out there don’t want any more birds because they […]
The photograph in today’s jigsaw puzzle was sent in by Doug. Thanks, Doug! I’ve seen a lot of houses like this one. Old, paint peeling, broken out windows, lonely and abandoned. I’m sure the people that grew up in them have good memories of them. It’s a shame to see them in this condition, but […]
Saturday is looking up to be a perfect day. Sunshine, slight breeze, and yes, a little too hot, but I have a good book, a couple of old movies, and my computer with some jigsaw puzzles to keep me busy. All I need now is some chocolate. I’ll give the flowers to the rabbit. She […]
Friday’s Free Daily Jigsaw Puzzle It’s all about Art. Art who? NO, not who, what! What? Art. Art who? Gesundheit.
From Wikipedia: Burano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy; like Venice itself, it could more correctly be called an archipelago of four islands linked by bridges. Today’s jigsaw puzzle shows a side of Venice you don’t see in the movies. Yes, there are paved streets there too. It’s not all canals, and […]
Step right up and test your skill. Can you find the monkey with the purple belly? How about a stuffed green frog? You, there. Yes, you, sitting in front of the monitor. Come here a second. “Do you have what it takes to work a puzzle like this? Come on, take a chance, and you […]
Well, I guess it’s better than snakes on a plane, but ropes on a boat can sure puzzle you as to what they do. Of course, things have changed a bit since I was last on a boat. For starters, you don’t necessarily have to have sails to go anywhere, plus you have all those […]
Eva wrote to ask that I do a really tough puzzle, something with a lot of one color in it. Since she didn’t specify what color, I picked green. Green leaves, that is. Yes, it’s a bit tough, but not impossible. I expect to be done with the easy version sometime later this week…
OK, there isn’t anything really scary in today’s jigsaw puzzle. It is one of many ghost towns across America. Some even have real ghosts in them. Ghosts which may follow you home. We have one in our house. She likes to turn on the TV at night while we are sleeping. She showed up after […]
To get anywhere you need connections. Connections can make things easier for you, and can help you do things you would otherwise not be able to do. Today’s jigsaw puzzle is a surprise, or mystery jigsaw puzzle. You don’t get to see a picture before you complete the puzzle. You just have to make the […]
