Let me tell you about the one that got away!
It was an exceptionally large fish… Dinner…
I stopped at a local restaurant and bought a family pack fish dinner to feed us with. I set the bag on the roof of my car so I could pull out my keys and unlock the door when my phone rang.
It was work with an IT emergency.
I gave them some quick instructions to put in a ticket and that I would be there in a few minutes, and I hopped in the car and as I was turning out of the parking lot, I heard a thump.
Yep. It was the food that I had left on top of the roof of the car.
I quickly turned around to go back in the hopes that it would still be OK, only to see a large truck smash the whole thing flat.
As I couldn’t wait around for another order of fish, I headed on to work, hoping I would get done in time get back and place another order.
Naturally, the crisis at work took about 20 minutes too long, and the restaurant closed.
And that, my friends, is the story of the big one that got away. From me. Because I’m an idiot.
Anyway, seeing the picture in today’s jigsaw puzzle reminded me of that story.
