Looking back about sixty or eighty years into a display from an old time drug store, we see all sorts of powders and concoctions that people took for whatever it was that ailed them.
Some helped, and some were pure ‘snake oil’ as it were.
I remember my mother putting Mercurochrome on cuts and scrapes when I was a kid.
These days it isn’t sold in the USA because of the mercury it contained which is now known to be toxic to people.
Things have changed a lot over the years, haven’t they?
A pharmacist from back then would be amazed to see a modern drug store these days.
