And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by, And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking, And a grey mist on the sea’s face
Today’s jigsaw puzzle is a mystery. You don’t get to see the picture until you complete the puzzle. I thought the title ‘Compassion’ was appropriate considering I’m going to see Mrs. Marquis de Sade for physical torture… er… therapy – again today. She does love her work, I’ll give her that. You’ll understand the ‘compassion’ […]
For today’s jigsaw puzzle I wanted to do something a little bit different. Here is a picture of a volcanic pool that people swim in, located on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores. It appears the islands were inhabited 2,000 years ago. The pictures I’ve seen and what I have read about them […]
Monday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle I always called these things “C-clamps” growing up. Now I hear they are also called “G-clamps.” Now I’m getting confused. What happened to D, E and F? Yes, I SEE the clamp, but GEE, is it clamping? Oh, the heck with it. I’ll use duct tape instead. It works better when […]
Sunday’s used to be a time when you would load the family up into the car and go for a drive. You had the time to enjoy the sites and the fresh air, and maybe wave at a neighbor or two as they sat on their front porch sipping tea. These days most houses don’t […]
I’ve owned some big cats over the years, but usually they were just fat. I’ve never owned one as big as these are in today’s jigsaw puzzle. I would hate to have to pay for their food. They look to be almost as expensive to feed as a teenager. I should know, I’ve raised my […]
It’s the weekend, and time to hop on the train and go somewhere for a little bit of fun. The view from today’s jigsaw puzzle is out the back of a train. This one is most likely somewhere in Europe. Enjoy the ride.
In all my years in the Navy, a lifeboat is something I never wanted to find myself in. Then we visited a port where there wasn’t a pier for us to pull up to, so we had to use the lifeboats to get to shore. I knew they had another purpose!
I like old buildings, and often times old, old churches are the best kept up places to explore. They often have a rich history, and are filled with paintings, carvings, sculptures, etc., much like a museum, but better. Don’t get me wrong, I love going to museums, it’s just that inside a museum everything is […]
Every so often, you come across a photograph that stands out in it’s simplicity and beauty. The photograph in today’s jigsaw puzzle jumped out as soon as I saw it. After you finish it, take a moment to enjoy the picture. Wayne
It’s Monday, and it’s time to get back to work. Not that I really quit working this weekend. There was the usual ‘honey-do’ list, my own projects, fixing things for other people, and our annual hazardous waste disposal day where the city lets you bring in all your hazardous waste for disposal. My wife still […]
Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon We could float among the stars together, you and I For we can fly we can fly Up, up and away –The Fifth Dimension
There is a reason I chose an electric guitar for Saturday’s jigsaw puzzle. A loud one. A new family moved into the house behind ours. Their son is in a band. They practice in the garage until all hours of the night. The garage that funnels all the sound my direction. It wouldn’t be so […]
Small kittens can be cute, and they can also be evil. I mean they go all cute when they want attention, but when they want to be left alone they bite. Oh, wait. I just described marriage. And kids. Especially kids. At least you won’t get in trouble for leaving your kitten at home alone […]
When I heard some friends talking about Redd Foxx, like an idiot I started talking about some of his best jokes. Wrong red fox. Boy, was I embarrassed. The red fox in today’s jigsaw puzzle is taking a little nap. Probably tired from doing his standup routine.
Bahayskie Gardens are located in Hayfa, Israel. I visited the city many years ago, but didn’t have a chance to visit the gardens. Perhaps next trip. I just checked my visitor logs, and I see that I have about twenty five visitors a day from Israel. Welcome to the site!
Yes, we have flowers planted in our garden. Smelly ones, to be honest. My wife planted them to keep the rabbits out because they keep trying to eat our vegetables. For some reason they like the lettuce and the carrots, but not the broccoli. I figure, if the rabbits won’t eat it, why should I? […]
Big Wheels Keep On Turning Carry me home to see my kin singing songs about the southland. I miss ole bamy once again and I think it’s a sin. Yes, I’m a fan of Lynard Skynard. I was listening to this song when I remembered I had this photograph of an old wagon wheel. That’s […]
My wife’s garden is really starting to come in this year. I got my first strawberry out of it this morning. As part of our ‘get healthy’ plan, I’m eating more salads and fresh vegetables, and thus the picture in today’s jigsaw puzzle. I’m not a fan of cucumbers, but I do like pickles, so […]
“Save the Watchtower! Save the watchtower!” Oh, wait. That’s supposed to be ‘clock tower.’ Sorry about that, Marty.
What is it about sharing some bubbly while soaking in a tub full of bubbly? OK, that probably didn’t make a whole lot of sense. My brain is probably a little waterlogged. Today’s jigsaw puzzle features soap bubbles and champagne. That’s always an interesting combination. Try not to drop any pieces into the water.
