Monday’s Jigsaw Puzzles (Note: Watching TV last night gave me an idea on how to plug the BP oil leak. Read about it at FixPlanetEarth.com) Today is Memorial day. I have two jigsaw puzzles for you today. One is a tomb. The other is a hat and medals from World War II. The first is […]
Sunday’s Daily Puzzle The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is the subject of today’s Memorial Day jigsaw puzzle. Such tombs exist in many countries. War always seems to leave some unidentified which, to me, makes their sacrifice all the more meaningful.
This wreck of an old LST-2 (Landing Ship, Tank) is from World War II, and is found at Guadalcanal. A thousand of these ships were built in the United States during World War II. This puzzle continues the Memorial Day series, and was taken by Dave Kendall.
Friday’s Surprise Jigsaw Puzzle Since Memorial Day is all about the people who served in the military, today’s puzzle is about some of their equipment. In this case it’s a Black-hawk helicopter. Since having one of these things suddenly appear behind you is a bit of a surprise, I made the puzzle a surprise too. […]
I found this display of the American Flag to be interesting, and chose it for Thursday’s jigsaw puzzle. Yes, this is another one in my Memorial Day series. I’m looking forward to it this year, and have had several requests from people for puzzles to help celebrate it. The pieces in today’s puzzle rotate.
Wednesday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle Just to do something different, and because Memorial Day is coming up, here is a jigsaw puzzle made from an old photograph. And no, I didn’t take this picture.
Memorial Day is coming up next week. To many it’s just a paid day off of work. To the rest of us, it is a time to remember the men and women who died in the military service. It holds special meaning to those of us who served and lost friends and fellow service members. […]
Monday’s here. Sigh… I feel like I’m lost in the woods sometimes, especially on Mondays. The picture in today’s jigsaw puzzle is of the Everglades. It’s not all swamp, you know.
Sunday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle Sunday is a day when families go out to eat. Well, most families, I guess. Sunday is more of a ‘fend for yourself’ day around here. The Mediterranean diet is supposed to be better for you. I’ve been trying to eat healthy, and have lost 30 pounds in the last year. […]
This would be a great weekend to go out sailing, except that it’s supposed to rain all weekend. Oh, well. Perhaps next weekend. Of course that’s Memorial Day weekend, when everyone else with a sailboat will be out on the water at the same time. Perhaps this weekend won’t be so bad. It’s not like […]
Well, I have some horse fans out there, so here are a couple in today’s jigsaw puzzle. Saddle up and enjoy!
Do you ever feel like you’re talking to a brick wall? Yup, I have kids too. I also have the goldfish working at McNuggets to occasionally deal with, like the time I stopped at their competition and got a roast beef sandwich, but then went to McNuggets to get their fries because the roast beef […]
OK, this is going to be quick to give you more time to work the jigsaw puzzle. Rethymno City is located in Greece. Yup, the same country that is asking for financial help. I visited Greece once, and had a great time there. Make it a stop on your next world cruise. You’ll enjoy it, […]
I’m not sure I would ever want to try to build a stone bridge. I built a small stone wall once. It was a lot of work, lifting all those rocks and putting them in place. It took me weeks of hard labor and cementing them together wasn’t very fun either! On top of that, […]
Monday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle The Geodesic Dome is a unique building shape, one that has been made into homes, museums, and many other buildings. My wife and I hope to build a dome home one of these days. We are planning on building a concrete dome home, with four levels. There will be an elevator […]
I spent several hours outside today, digging up and removing a huge tree root from my wife’s garden. It was a little on the tough side to remove. (Hey, today’s jigsaw puzzle is a little tough, too!) Of course, my wife had to tell me that if I ate more spinach, it wouldn’t be as […]
There is a community a couple of hours from where I live called Seagrove. They are world famous for their pottery. OK, if you haven’t heard of it, then stop letting it puzzle you, go and Google it. Remember the mud from the jigsaw puzzle a couple of days ago? This is what you can […]
I was really surprised by this clock. I have no clue as to the purpose of this clock, and I’ve been puzzling over it for a while now. It would be a nice mystery for someone out there to solve and take the time to explain it to me. (Need any more clues?)
It looks like they are finally going to open up the semi-new Randleman Lake for water distribution. I say semi-new because they have been planning on building this thing since the 1950’s. It is supposed to solve our summer drought problems. They took a whole bunch of land, including farms, dug a hole in the […]
Wednesday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle These kids in today’s jigsaw puzzle seem to be thinking about the prizes they hope to win at the fair. I have some bad news for them – the games are rigged. Yup, that’s right. They are designed to get you to pay way more money playing the game than the […]
When was the last time you played a game of pinball?
That long ago?
Well, it’s about the same for me. Unless you count pinball on the computer.
These big pipes carry things like steam, hot water, cold water, chocolate bars, etc. OK, I made the part about chocolate bars up. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could simply turn a handle somewhere in you house and get chocolate out of it? Man, my utility bill would be a thousand bucks a month […]
Back when I was a piano technician, I wanted to buy myself a harpsichord kit and build my own harpsichord. Now, I don’t have either the money or the room, yet I still hope to build one some day. It’s on my bucket list. Seriously. I have a bucket with a piece of paper on […]
It may sound small, but when you consider that it’s population of about 2800 people make it the 6th largest town in Greenland it isn’t that tiny after all.
I hear there are a lot of cougars around these days. There’s supposed to be a TV show about a town full of them, but since I don’t watch much TV I don’t know about that. I’ve been told you can usually find them on Friday and Saturday nights, at local watering holes, looking for […]
Thursday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle It’s nice how flowers can grow in places that would otherwise not be worth looking at. I was looking for a photograph of a bridge when I found this one. Since flowers always make for a good jigsaw puzzle, I figured this one would be good on both counts. Now, can […]
Baby Angora Rabbit My wife wants a baby Angora rabbit. I guess the two rabbits we have now aren’t enough. She could collect the fur as it sheds, and make a sweater from it. I don’t know about that. It would take a while to get that much fur. They are cute, though.
Ever been to an office somewhere that was so clean and neat, you were afraid to sit down and mess something up? Not me. I see something like that, I hop from chair to chair, and move the magazines all around. I mean, what’s the point of having something look that neat if people aren’t […]
Monday’s Daily Jigsaw Puzzle Apparently cats jump when you smack a bug on the table. That has nothing to do with today’s jigsaw puzzle, but I couldn’t think of a thing to say about tulips when this bug came crawling across my table. So I smacked it. Oh, bugs are attracted to flowers, like tulips. […]
